WTRMP Hummingbird HEM survey 2001-2002 EMFlow v3.2 Conductivity-depth images (CDIs) have been output as ASCII data [Geosoft XYZ (*.xyz) and generic column (*.dat) formats], and as Geosoft databases (*.gdb) ASCII data in Geosoft XYZ format is contained in files: dolcoath_emflow_cdi.xyz balfour_emflow_cdi.xyz mrv_emflow_cdi.xyz meredith_emflow_cdi.xyz dundas_emflow_cdi.xyz Geosoft databases have the same root filename, with the extension *.gdb. ASCII column data files have the same root filename, with the extension *.dat Examples of the *.xyz and *.dat file formats are given at the end of this readme file. EMFlow Conductivity depth slices for Dundas, Mount Read Volcanics, Balfour, Dolcoath and Meredith are supplied as ERMapper grids (*.ers). Slice depths are 20 m, 70 m and 120 m below the earth's surface. Grid cell size is 50 m. Grid extents for each survey area are given in the text file "survey_name_extents.txt", where survey_name is balfour, dolcoath etc. Grid origin is minimum easting and northing. Filename format for conductivity depth slices is "survey_name_20m_slice.ers" etc Note: Depth slices show the effects of levelling problems in the raw HEM data - application of a 3 * 3 cell moving average filter is recommended to remove striping in flight line direction. ----------- GEOSOFT XYZ (*.XYZ) FORMAT CDI FILES There are 38 columns in the (*.xyz) CDI files, many of which are redundant. A complete description of the file is given below, with descriptions of the important columns.
